We the Sheeple!!


We the SHEEPLE!!


 Moved forward by a 100 years,
but regressed infinitely.

We became the sheeples,
we may have never imagined we'll be.

Cut off from the core of existence,
from a universe so profound

Pushed into an education system,
slave to the economy from the ground

To churn out more mind controlled,
Sheeples back into this society

With a one pointed focus of success,
sold in the glittery tabloids 

Things things and more things,
became the sole purpose of life

Hooked on mindless garbage,
Makes a palate of this junkie 

Gadgets make life easier can ever be
Sheeples lazier can ever be

Go to the gym to compensate 
the lack of vigor in life

Go to the mall to compensate
the lack of substance

Go to the bar to compensate
the lack of life

Trapped in the mind 
On a go go go to make more more more

We step over everything that comes
Man, mule, sheep, earth alike

Churn out more paper 
put some arbitrary price on life

Life never conceded though
It was taken forcibly

The pig never agreed 
Its life worth the paper

Terminated for taste and profit
like the trillion other every year

Cut more trees, kill more animals
for the supermercardos of the city

Let Status Quo be; they say
do not look at the ugly

Keep your blinders tight
And walk straight away from the light

From your bed to your work to your grave
Never questioning anything

There are laws; follow them!!
Someone made them, they must be right

Screen time exceeds personal
Our box spaces become more tight

We are more compatible 
With versions of software
than beings of earth

Experiential reality limited
everything becomes a concept
a fantastic idea from birth

Keep them Sheeples transfixed
For all that its worth...

CARNATIC BLUES!! I believe most people especially in the US have their primary goal to just be able to perform on stage. Back in India, it is not so. I feel for Carnatic music, one should go through rigorous training even after you feel that you have reached a stage where you can be giving a stage performance. The whole structure of raaga needs to be very clear in your head and the more you advance in your learning, the more you should go back to the basics and use them for all the raagas that you learn. Like for examples, the alankaras should be practiced with all the raagas and not just mayamamavagaula. Also, varnams should be really stressed upon before reaching the keertana stage. The more varnams you learn, the more strong you become in the ragaa structure. Bain and Boon of being a Palakkad-i And for those who wonder who a Palakkad-i is, well we are people who hail from a village(Palakkad) in the south of the Indian peninsula that lies on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. It was initially owned by the government of Tamil Nadu but now in the hands of Kerala. So my ancestors were Tamil but now we are successfully confused. My friends often ask me which state am I from, and I vacillate between the two. C'mon guys its hard on me. Cut me some slack, I am a Palakkad-i born and brought up in the North which makes it even more eclectic. I grew up speaking a language that perhaps no-one other than a fellow Palakkad-i would understand. I have trouble understanding a perfectly pure Tamil movie or a Malayalam movie, or news readers, or people or songs.
